Wadsworths Solicitors are proud to celebrate the success of Alex Browne, a valued member of our Residential Conveyancing Department, who has recently passed her final CILEX Level 6 exam, achieving Graduate Member (MCILEX) status – a major milestone on her journey to becoming a fully qualified Chartered Legal Executive (FILEX).
Alex’s achievement is the result of dedication, determination, and an inspiring return to study after many years away from formal education.
Alex first began her legal studies back in the late 1990s with what was then known as ILEX (Institute of Legal Executives), successfully completing the first stage of her exams. Her studies took a pause when she became a mum in 2001, and with the challenges of balancing work, home life, and childcare, her qualifications went on the back burner – for quite some time.
Fast forward to 2021, and Alex decided to reignite her ambition, enrolling with CILEX (The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) to complete her qualification. Picking up where she left off, Alex dove straight into Level 6, juggling full-time work and study.
“It was a long, hard slog,” Alex shared. “There were many weekends spent revising and even a few setbacks along the way — including having to resit my Land Law exam! But I stayed focused, and it’s such an amazing feeling to have finally completed it.”
Three years of dedication later, Alex has achieved Graduate Member status and is now preparing her qualifying work experience portfolio – the final step towards becoming a Fellow of CILEX (FILEX) and receiving her Practising Certificate.
