Meet Our Team

John Wadsworth

Director

The Managing Director of the firm, John has worked at the firm since 1996, starting as the Office Junior, before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005.

John studied law at Nottingham Trent University and completed his Legal Practice Certificate at the Birmingham College of Law before later joining the firm full time.

As well as being responsible for the day to day running of the firm, John runs cases involving individual and commercial litigation, as well as personal injury and clinical negligence.

Alexandra Tait

Director

Alex joined the firm in 2003 as a conveyancing assistant. She qualified in 2008, having completed her training contract with us. In July 2015 Alex was appointed as Director of the firm.
Alex studied law at London Guildhall University before completing the Legal Practice Course at Birmingham College of Law in Birmingham in 2002.

Alex acts for several major property developers and landlords, as well as handling sales and purchases for the wider community of Solihull. Alex has tremendous skill in ensuring that transactions run as smoothly as possible, and ensures that the stress of moving house is reduced to an absolute minimum for clients.

Michael Wadsworth

Director

Michael joined the firm in 2004 and has experienced several roles within the legal practice.

Michael now runs the Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney Department, acting for the firm’s clients in ensuring that their testamentary wishes are recorded and adhered to.

Michael handles Lasting Powers of Attorney, which are essential for all to ensure that their wishes for their health as well as their finances, are in order should they lose mental capacity.

Michael is also a member of the Institute of Professional Willwriters and was appointed a Director of the firm in 2019.

Gemma Dempsey

Director

Gemma joined the firm in 2004 as a conveyancing secretary working in the conveyancing department. Since then, Gemma has been providing assistance to our clients and proving herself to be an invaluable member of the team.

In August 2014, with ten years’ experience under her belt, Gemma progressed to the position of Conveyancing Caseworker, with conduct of her own files, and is now working towards qualifying as a Licensed Conveyancer with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. In November 2018, Gemma became Head of Conveyancing and in January 2021 she was appointed a director.

Imogen Harris

Regional Accounts Manager

Imogen joined the firm in 2018 as our Accounts Manager, quickly proving herself to be an invaluable member of the management team.

Imogen is a qualified accountant with over six years experience working within solicitor firms.

Victoria Hicks

Regional Marketing Manager

Victoria joined us in 2017 as our Marketing Manager, having spent the majority of her career working within the legal profession.

She is responsible for various marketing and networking opportunities, with the primary goal of ensuring Wadsworths' continued growth and visibility in the local and wider area, together with our online digital presence.

Victoria also ensures we achieve our corporate social responsibility goals, supporting local charitable and community events across all three offices and assisting the directors with various tasks including HR and recruitment.

Richard Dundee

Head of Private Client

Richard completed his legal studies in Coventry and Leeds, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2014 after training with a well-regarded firm of Solicitors in Coventry. He went on to work for both a national estate planning company and a large firm of solicitors based in Birmingham as their Head of Department before joining Wadsworths in 2020.

Richard has knowledge and experience of many areas of Private Client Law and can advise on all aspects of Wills, the administration of Estates and Probate, Estate Planning and Trusts.

He strives to make complicated subjects as easy to understand as possible, avoiding jargon and making clients feel at ease.

Chris Dingley

Head of Commercial Property

Chris joined the firm in January 2017 having previously practiced at a firm based in Tamworth. He was born and educated in Solihull and having graduated from the University of Liverpool he went on to complete his Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham achieving a distinction.

Since qualifying as a solicitor Chris has specialised in commercial and residential property and undertakes a wide range of Commercial Property matters including freehold sales and purchases, commercial leases, commercial borrowing and site acquisition and disposal.

Julie Haden

Solicitor - Family Law

Julie joined the firm in June 2016 to head up our new Family Law Department. Julie graduated from University with First Class Honours and qualified as a solicitor in 2005.

Since qualifying, Julie has specialised exclusively in all aspects of Family Law and adopts a pragmatic and cost effective approach to resolving issues in respect of all family issues relating to the breakdown of a relationship and issues relating to child arrangements.

Julie can assist with all aspects of divorce & the dissolution of civil partnerships, matrimonial finance, disputes regarding children, including representation of Grandparents, issues relating to the separation of cohabitees and separation agreements.

Charlotte Cramp

Solicitor - Probate

Charlotte joined Wadsworths in 2000 as a Trainee Solicitor having completed her law degree.  She went on to qualify as a solicitor in 2001.

Initially Charlotte covered most areas of law with us but finally settled in our Clinical Negligence department and went on to obtain her master’s degree in Clinical Negligence in 2010. Charlotte has many years’ experience of handling complex and high value clinical negligence cases.

Charlotte has recently embraced the opportunity to change her area of specialism and now heads up our Probate Department where she covers all aspects post-death through to finalisation of the estate. Please contact Charlotte for advice on all Probate and Estate Administration matters.

Mariam Nosheen

Solicitor - Residential Conveyancing

Mariam graduated in September 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law with Honours and went on to pursue her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) from which she graduated in June 2016.

Over her years in practice Mariam has gained extensive experience in a wide range of residential property matters and can assist with Freehold Sale and Purchase transactions, Sale of deceased estate properties, Right to Buy Purchases, Purchases of Freehold, First Registrations and Transfers of Equity.

Louise Dawson

Solicitor - Family Law

Prior to joining Wadsworths, Louise gained experience working at several firms in the West Midlands and since qualifying as a Solicitor, has specialised in all aspects of Family Law.

Louise is very experienced in dealing with matrimonial breakdown including divorce and finances, private law children matters including child arrangement applications, prohibited steps and specific issue orders, representing parents and grandparents.

She also has extensive experience in acting for clients regarding non-molestation and occupation orders and prides herself on her friendly and down to earth approach.

Zarah Alam

Solicitor - Family Law

Zarah joined the firm in January 2016 having completed her law degree at Brunel University, followed by her LPC at BPP Law School in Birmingham. Zarah qualified as a Solicitor in September 2017 having completed her training contract with us, and has joined the Family Department as a Solicitor.

Zarah is a member of Resolution and can assist with all aspects of divorce & the dissolution of civil partnerships, domestic violence and injunctive remedies matrimonial finance, disputes regarding children including representation of Grandparents, issues relating to the separation of cohabitees and separation agreements.

Inayah Habib

Solicitor - Family Law

Inayah joined the firm in February 2019 within the Family Department having previously practiced at a firm based in Birmingham. She graduated from Birmingham City University and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course achieving a distinction. Inayah qualified as a solicitor in October 2017 at a firm specialising in Family Law.

Inayah can assist with all aspects of divorce, domestic violence and injunctive remedies, matrimonial finance, disputes regarding children, issues relating to the separation of cohabitees and separation agreements.

Rachel McLarney

Solicitor - Family Law

Prior to joining Wadsworths in 2020, Rachel gained experience working at a long-standing High-Street firm in Sutton Coldfield. Since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2015, Rachel has specialised in all aspects of Family Law.

Rachel is experienced in dealing with matrimonial breakdown including divorce and finances, private law children matters including child arrangement applications, prohibited steps and specific issue orders, representing parents, grandparents and the wider family.

Hannah Halden

Solicitor - Employment Law

Hannah joined Wadsworths in August 2019 having completed her BA in Political Science from Georgia State university in America. After moving to the UK she then completed her Graduate Diploma in Law in 2014 and then her Masters in Law and LPC in international law in 2016 from the University of Law in Birmingham.  She undertook her training contract with the firm, qualifying as a solicitor in July 2020.

Prior to joining Wadsworths she gained experience working for firms in Worcester, central Birmingham and Coventry.

Farina Saddique

Solicitor - Dispute Resolution

Farina joined the firm in November 2015 having already completed her BA in Human Rights in London and her law degree at University of Law in Guildford. Farina completed her Legal Practice Course and LLM at the University of Law in Birmingham in May 2018.

Farina gained practical & hands on legal experience when working in Central London. She completed her training contract at the firm, qualifying  as a Solicitor specialising in Dispute Resolution in December 2019

Harriet Muffett

Solicitor - Dispute Resolution

Harriet joined the firm in August 2018 having completed her Law degree at Birmingham University in 2017 and successfully achieving a distinction in her Masters in Law. Harriet followed on to complete the Legal Practice Course and LLM at the University of Law in 2018.

She commenced her training contract at the firm in April 2019 and, after initially working in our Commercial Property Department, is now enjoying experience with our Litigation team.

Sarah Brotherton

Office Manager

Sarah joined our firm in late 2012 as our receptionist. Sarah had held temporary positions with other law firms and as a result of this decided that she wanted to pursue a career in the field of law.

As well as being the friendly face who greets all of our clients, Sarah became our office manager as of July 2018 and also assists Alex Tait with the running of the office together with conveyancing administration.

Molly Cook

Trainee Solicitor

Molly joined the firm in 2016 having completed her law degree at Nottingham Trent University in 2016 and most recently achieved a distinction in the Legal Practice Course and LLM at Birmingham City University in 2020.

Molly initially started as a conveyancing secretary and progressed to a conveyancer caseworker in 2018 within the residential conveyancing department, where she handled her own files.

In October 2020 Molly commenced her training contract with the firm and is undertaking her first seat in Private Client; working within both the Probate and Wills departments.

Sarah-Jayne Bucknall

Paralegal - Commercial Property

Sarah-Jayne graduated with a law degree from the University of Law in 2019, completing her LPC LLM in 2020 when she joined Wadsworths.

Whilst completing her degree, she participated in various pro-bono activities including volunteering for the National Centre for Domestic Violence and Legal Advice Centre. She also gained work experience at Wadsworths, which is when we spotted what an asset she’d be to our busy team!

Victoria Wadsworth

Probate Caseworker

Vickie has been with the firm since 2006, having joined as a Trainee Legal Assistant in the Wills and Probate department.

After completing her Level 3 Diploma for Legal Secretaries through the Institute of Legal Executives in 2010, Vickie spent many years assisting the Probate Department and building up her knowledge and expertise.

In January 2020, Vickie went on to become a Probate Caseworker and is now able to assist clients with obtaining Grants of Representation, administering Estates, intestate Estates and Deeds of Variation. Vickie strives to ensure that the legal process after losing a loved one is as stress free as possible.

Charlotte Gower

Paralegal - Family Law

Charlotte graduated from Coventry University in 2019 with a First Class Honours degree in LLB Law.

She initially started work as a legal secretary at our Warwick office in May 2020 and quickly proved herself an exceptional member of the team, being promoted to paralegal in January 2021.

Charlotte assists with all aspects of family law including divorce, matrimonial finance and disputes regarding children.

Sue McConnell

Legal Assistant

Sue joined the firm in February 2016 as a legal assistant, having gained many years of experience in this field.

Sue provides administration and secretarial support to our busy Residential Conveyancing Department. She also gives vital assistance, coupled with a wealth of knowledge, as part of our Office Management Team. Over her years at Wadsworths, she has proved herself to be an integral and dedicated member of the team.

Laura joined the firm in January 2010 as a Trainee Office Assistant.  Laura has gained experience assisting in various departments within our firm but is now a Secretary in the Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney department.

Laura provides vital assistance within the Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney department and has proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team.

Kelsi Jones

Kelsi joined the team in August 2019, initially assisting with daily admin duties in the office.

After demonstrating an exceptional and dedicated work ethic, she was swiftly promoted to the role of Legal Assistant in the busy Wills and LPA's Department in early 2020 and has quickly become an integral and vibrant member of the team.

Sharon Lowndes

Legal Assistant - Private Client

Sharon has been working at the firm since October 2020.

Sharon has over 20 years’ experience in receptionist, administration and secretarial roles in Warwick, Solihull and Birmingham.

She works for the Wills & LPA team with the Head of Private Client, Richard Dundee, at our Warwick office.

Carol Wadsworth

Conveyancing Secretary

Carol has been with the firm since its inception in 1986 in a secretarial capacity. She has worked in various departments over the years and has finally settled in the conveyancing department providing secretarial assistance to Gemma Dempsey.

Carol has over twenty years’ experience as a conveyancing secretary and provides essential assistance to clients who are completing residential transactions with the firm.

Laura Staines

Laura joined the firm in 2012 having gained legal experience prior to joining us and is secretary to Alexandra Tait.

Laura has successfully completed the ILEX Legal Secretary stage 2 qualification.

Laura provides invaluable support to Alex assisting with conveyancing matters.

Receptionist - Tamworth

Lara joined our firm in October 2020 as our receptionist in our Tamworth office having gained many years administration experience in her previous job role.

Lara ensures that all clients that visit the office are greeted with a friendly smile and are made to feel relaxed and welcome. Lara also provides assistance to Michael Wadsworth and all other staff members at the Tamworth office.
