We are so incredibly proud to have presented the veterans’ charity, Royal Star & Garter, with a cheque for £1,000 recently.
We pledged to donate £20 for every new conveyancing matter, the legal side of buying or selling a property, opened during the month of March 2020.
Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic struck during the initiative and the country was plunged into lockdown, we continued to receive instructions and maintained our pledge to the charity, opening 50 new conveyancing files and therefore raising £1,000 for the Solihull home.
Royal Star & Garter provides award-winning care for veterans and their partners who live with disability or dementia, in state-of-the-art Homes. The charity was founded in 1916 to care for severely injured young men returning from the battlegrounds of the First World War. Today, they provide specialist nursing, dementia and therapeutic care, together with a varied and engaging programme of activities, which enable residents to remain independent and enjoy life.
Gemma Dempsey, one of our Directors and Head of Residential Conveyancing commented “Wadsworths are delighted and proud to have been involved in fundraising for Royal Star & Garter and its amazing residents. We pride ourselves on taking an active part in our local community and are therefore thrilled to be supporting such a wonderful cause after what has been a difficult year for everyone.”
Lauren Baker, Senior Community Fundraiser at Royal Star & Garter, said: “We are extremely thankful to Wadsworths Solicitors for developing this fundraising initiative to support the veterans we care for. Maintaining links with our local community is so important to us and the residents who live in our Solihull Home.”
Caley Eldred, Director of Supporter Engagement at Royal Star & Garter, said: “We’re really grateful for this donation. It will help us continue providing outstanding care for residents in our Solihull Home.”
