Meet Our Team

John Wadsworth

The Managing Director of the firm, John has worked at the firm since 1996, starting as the Office Junior, before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005.

John studied law at Nottingham Trent University and completed his Legal Practice Certificate at the Birmingham College of Law before later joining the firm full time.

As well as being responsible for the day to day running of the firm, John also handles cases of clinical negligence, commercial and general litigation cases. John regularly handles cases in excess of £100,000, and acts for both Claimants and Defendants in both the Courts and Tribunals.

Alexandra Tait

Alex joined the firm in 2003 as a conveyancing assistant. She qualified in 2008, having completed her training contract with us and is now the head of our conveyancing department. In July 2015 Alex was appointed as Director of the firm.
Alex studied law at London Guildhall University before completing the Legal Practice Course at Birmingham College of Law in Birmingham in 2002.

Alex acts for several major property developers and landlords, as well as handling sales and purchases for the wider community of Solihull. Alex has tremendous skill in ensuring that transactions run as smoothly as possible, and ensures that the stress of moving house is reduced to an absolute minimum for clients.

Michael Wadsworth

Michael joined the firm in 2004 and has experienced several roles within the legal practice.

Michael now runs the Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney Department, acting for the firm’s clients in ensuring that their testamentary wishes are recorded and adhered to.

Michael handles Lasting Powers of Attorney, which are essential for all to ensure that their wishes for their health as well as their finances, are in order should they lose mental capacity.

Michael is also a member of the Institute of Professional Willwriters.

Sara Bennett

Sara has been with the firm since 2000, and runs the Probate Department. Sara has over 15 years’ experience of leading this Department and has helped hundreds of bereaved families to manage the estates of departed loved ones with skill, compassion, and attention to detail.

She is adept at ensuring that already distressed families do not have to cope with the additional stress of handling finances, bills and inheritance tax.

Sara also deals with Court of Protection applications and Deeds of Variation. For more information on any of these matters, please do not hesitate to contact Sara.

Chris Dingley

Solicitor

Chris joined the firm in January 2017 having previously practiced at a firm based in Tamworth. He was born and educated in Solihull and having graduated from the University of Liverpool he went on to complete his Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Birmingham achieving a distinction.

Since qualifying as a solicitor Chris has specialised in commercial and residential property and undertakes a wide range of Commercial Property matters including freehold sales and purchases, commercial leases, commercial borrowing and site acquisition and disposal.

Gemma Dempsey

Gemma joined the firm in 2004 as a conveyancing secretary working in the conveyancing department. Since then, Gemma has been providing assistance to our clients and proving herself to be an invaluable member of the team.

In August 2014, with ten years’ experience under her belt, Gemma progressed to the position of Conveyancing Caseworker, with conduct of her own files, and is now working towards qualifying as a Licensed Conveyancer with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

Julie Haden

Julie joined the firm in June 2016 to head up our new Family Law Department. Julie graduated from University with First Class Honours and qualified as a solicitor in 2005.

Since qualifying, Julie has specialised exclusively in all aspects of Family Law and adopts a pragmatic and cost effective approach to resolving issues in respect of all family issues relating to the breakdown of a relationship and issues relating to child arrangements.

Julie can assist with all aspects of divorce & the dissolution of civil partnerships, matrimonial finance, disputes regarding children, including representation of Grandparents, issues relating to the separation of cohabitees and separation agreements.

Charlotte Cramp

Charlotte joining our firm in 2000 as a Trainee Solicitor having completed her law degree at the University of Central England.

Having completed her training contract, Charlotte qualified as a solicitor in 2001. She covered most areas of law whilst with us but finally settled in our Clinical Negligence department and went on to obtain her master’s degree in Clinical Negligence in 2010.

Charlotte has many years’ experience of handling complex and high value clinical negligence cases. She has experience in cases concerning GP negligence, gynaecological failure, general surgical error, delays in treatment and diagnosis including cancer cases and orthopaedic mismanagement.

Henry Coates

Henry joined the firm in June 2015 to head up our new Litigation and Employment department. Henry qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and, as such, has over 25 years’ experience handling a variety of, often very complex, legal matters

Matters that Henry can assist you with are inheritance disputes, claims in the County Court, employment matters, either on behalf of the employer or employee, commercial leases and business paperwork and HR advice.

Henna Afsar Khan

Henna joined us in July 2015 having completed her law degree at Keele University, followed by her LPC at the Birmingham College of Law.

Henna has recently commenced her training contract with us and will be supporting various department over the upcoming months.

Henna currently provides invaluable assistance to the Personal Injury team and the Immigration team.

Zarah Alam

Solicitor

Zarah joined the firm in January 2016 having completed her law degree at Brunel University, followed by her LPC at BPP Law School in Birmingham. Zarah qualified as a Solicitor in September 2017 having completed her training contract with us, and has joined the Family Department as a Solicitor.

Zarah is a member of Resolution and can assist with all aspects of divorce & the dissolution of civil partnerships, domestic violence and injunctive remedies matrimonial finance, disputes regarding children including representation of Grandparents, issues relating to the separation of cohabitees and separation agreements.

Victoria Wadsworth

Vickie has been with the firm since 2006, having joined as a Trainee Legal Assistant in the Wills and Probate department.

In 2010, Vickie became a Legal Secretary having successfully completed Level 3 Diploma for Legal Secretaries through the Institute of Legal Executives.

Vickie provides vital assistance to the Probate Department and has proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team.

Vickie also deals with the marketing and assists with the strategy planning relating to the firm.

Laura Staines

Conveyancing Secretary/Assistant Manager

Laura joined the firm in 2012 having gained legal experience prior to joining us and is secretary to Alexandra Tait.

Laura has successfully completed the ILEX Legal Secretary stage 2 qualification.

Laura provides invaluable support to Alex both assisting with conveyancing matters and the day to day administration duties of the firm.

Carol Wadsworth

Carol has been with the firm since its inception in 1986 in a secretarial capacity. She has worked in various departments over the years and has finally settled in the conveyancing department providing secretarial assistance to Gemma Dempsey.

Carol has over twenty years’ experience as a conveyancing secretary and provides essential assistance to clients who are completing residential transactions with the firm.

Laura Bates

Laura joined the firm in January 2010 as a Trainee Office Assistant.Laura has gained experience assisting in various departments within our firm but is now a Secretary in the Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney department.

Laura provides vital assistance within the Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney department and has proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team.

Farina Saddique

Farina joined the firm in November 2015 having completed her law degree at Guildford University of Law, Farina is currently doing her LPC at the University of Law Birmingham which she commenced in September 2016.

Farina has previous experience within the legal field and is currently providing assistance in our Clinical Negligence department.

Sarah Brotherton

Sarah joined our firm in late 2012 as our receptionist. Sarah had held temporary positions with other law firms and as a result of this decided that she wanted to pursue a career in the field of law.

As well as being the friendly face who greets all of our clients, Sarah also provides secretarial assistance in our conveyancing department.

Sue McConnell

Sue joined the firm in February 2016 as a legal assistant having gained many years of secretarial and administration experience.

Sue provides vital assistance within the Litigation and Employment department and has proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team.

Molly Cook

Legal Assistant

Molly joined the firm in October 2016 as an office assistant having completed her law degree at Nottingham Trent University in July 2016.

Molly has joined our conveyancing department and is hoping to commence her LPC shortly.

In her short time at the firm, Molly has proved herself to be a quick learner and a very capable member of staff.

Vicky Wadsworth

Vicky joined the firm in September 2015 to play a crucial role in assisting with the cashiering and accounts duties.

Vicky has returned to work following a career break to raise her three children and is excited to be back in the world of work and to be involved with the family firm.
